Kristína Bulánková

I have been a professional translator for over 9 years, specialising in banking, finance, and legal translations, drawing on my education and prior work experience. I also have expertise in projects from the automotive industry and a strong passion for translating marketing materials and websites. In addition, I offer localisation and transcreation services.

As a certified translator, registered under number 971486 in the official list of experts, interpreters, and translators maintained by the Slovak Ministry of Justice, I provide certified translations of documents in both printed and electronic formats.

Certified Translations – in Paper and Electronic Form

A certified translation can only be completed by an authorised translator. This type of translation is often required by official authorities and is most commonly used for documents such as diplomas, marriage certificates, employment contracts, court rulings, and many others.

If your documents need to be submitted abroad, higher-level authentication (e.g., an apostille) might be necessary. I can assist you with this process as well –find more information [here].

I provide certified translations in two formats:

1. Printed Certified Translations
A printed certified translation consists of a bundle of documents bound with a tricolor ribbon, featuring the translator's round stamp and signature.

2. Electronic Certified Translations
An electronic certified translation is a digital version of a translated document that holds the same legal validity as a printed translation. It is secured with a qualified electronic signature and a time stamp and is delivered as a PDF file or an .asice signature container.

I have experience with the most widely used programs, such as memoQ, Trados Studio, Phrase, SmartCat, and Xbench.

Electronic Certified Translation – How to Proceed...

Send the document*:

  • either an electronic document signed with a qualified electronic signature (the one you received electronically), or

  • a notarised electronic copy of a paper document (the original must be submitted to a notary, who will verify and convert it into an electronic format).

I will translate the document and send you the electronic translation via email.

You can use the translation immediately by sending it to the recipient or have it converted into paper form by a notary, lawyer, or at the post office.

*If the recipient does not require a translation of the verified/original document, send a scan.


Higher Authentication of Slovak Public Documents

An apostille is a higher form of authentication required when an official document is presented in a country that is a signatory to the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961. This convention eliminates the need for further authentication of foreign public documents. Superlegalisation is a more complex higher authentication that is required in states that are not party to the Hague Convention. However, higher authentication is not required for all official documents and in all countries, particularly those with which Slovakia has bilateral or multilateral agreements offering exemptions.

German-speaking countries:

Apostillation applies to all documents intended for use in Switzerland and those intended for use in Germany related to legal entities and business purposes. In Austria, all documents are exempt from the apostille requirement.
